In August, 2024, limnological investigations were performed in the Bâlea lake to understand water circulation effect on sediment transfer. Water samples were taken from different depth levels to measure oxygen and temperature, an Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler (ADCP) was installed on the bottom of the lake for water currents detection and a chain with temperature sensors was installed in the centre of the lake for continuous high resolution monitoring of water temperature.
